A3 Photo 1 - First Photograph Questions

1. When was the first photograph made?

      The first photograph was made in the year 1826 on a summer day.

2. Where was it made?

      The photograph is believed to have been made in the courtyard outside of Niepce's home.

3. Who made it?

      Joseph Nicephore Niepce, a Frenchman, made the first photograph using a camera obscura, and took approximately 8 hours of exposure.

4. Where is it now?

      The photo is now owned by the Harry Ransom Center for the Humanities at the University of Texas in Austin, and is on display in that center.

5. What do you think about it?

      I think that the picture is alright to look at, but what I find much more fascinating is thinking about how the photographer planned and did research to be able to create this photo. I think that the progress this photo represented is what keeps it interesting even today.
